As part of the MAPVI community, we wanted to extend this special invitation from Liz Myska:
Since becoming legally blind in 2008, I have dedicated myself to endeavors designed to engage all ages, whether sighted or not, whether differently abled or not. I have befriended VIPs (visually impaired persons), learned from them and as of 2016 I started a consulting company called VISiONS Consulting L3C intended to teach the sighted how to interact and integrate us VIPs into mainstream society.
I have received a grant from the National Libraries of Medicine, one of which is at UMass. My co/collaborators and I want to identify and assemble a select group of interested individuals on January 15 at noon at the YWCA of Central Ma in Worcester next to the Worcester Public Library. We are calling this event a grant overview and orientation and we want to acquaint attendees with the calendar of planned events.
We want to build community, connect populations that may theoretically be “in touch” but may not be in reality, explore, invigorate, integrate and incorporate. We are inviting MAPVI in the hope that individuals will see the merit and enthusiastically participate.
Where: YWCA of Central Massachusetts (Next to the Worcester Public Library)
1 Salem Square, Worcester, MA 01608
When: Sunday January 15, 2017 at 12:00 PM
Please note: You do not need to be a MAPVI member to attend this event. There is no cost to attend the event.
