Perkins Adventure Days: Adapted Bikes and Family Picnic, July 11 2015

3 girls on a tandem bike

Join us for one more Adventure Day this school year at Perkins School for the Blind and in partnership with the Massachusetts Association of Parents of the Visually Impaired (MAPVI)!

Perkins and MAPVI are inviting families to visit the Perkins campus and experience different aspects of the Perkins programs while also getting to socialize and meet other families, all in a kid-friendly environment!

Everyone is welcome! This event is free and open to the public as well as any kids currently enrolled in any Perkins program. Kids of all ages and their siblings are welcome to attend.

Our last Adventure Day of the school year will be on Saturday, July 11th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We’ll meet at the track behind Eliot and Moulton cottages for a family get-together and adapted bike ride! Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy outdoors on picnic tables… and Perkins will provide the juice and cookies! View a campus map with directions here.

Learn more about adapted and tandem bicycles and how to ride them safely while also socializing with other families. We are planning this to be an outdoor event, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate we will move the bikes (and picnic) indoors to the Howe Gym.
